A private consultation at London Cardiac & Vascular Associates – what actually happens?
How do I book an appointment with a consultant?
It’s extremely simple to book an appointment with one of our surgeons, either call or email our team on 02070348972 or email@example.com.
You can also check us out on certified medical booking websites, like Doctify, Topdoctors and HCA Healthcare.
How do I book an appointment with London Cardiac & Vascular Associates via my private medical insurance?
Patients with private medical insurance will usually have been referred by their GP or another healthcare professional.
Some insurance companies require confirmation from your referring doctor to cover your initial consultation (this is called a referral letter), so it’s always important to check this before booking appointment.
We are, of course, recognised by all the big insurance companies like AXA PPP, Bupa, Aviva, Alliance and WPA along with many others.
Can I still come even if I don't have insurance?
Of course you can! You can just call up as normal and our lovely office staff will help find a time that suits you.
How do I know my appointment has definitely been booked?
All appointments are confirmed by a confirmation letter sent via secure email or post, depending on how you’ve told us you’d like to be contacted.
What happens during my appointment?
Everyone's appointment is a little different as every patient is unique so it's hard to say exactly what will happen. However, most first-time appointments usually involve the consultant taking a detailed medical history as well as current symptoms and what diagnostic tests may need to be done.
We understand that you may feel anxious during your appointment, but don't worry, our internationally-recognised consultants will take the time to explain everything to you, including any possible examinations and treatments.
Do I need to bring anything with me to my appointment?
It’s very helpful to bring any medical history documents or scans relating to the appointment.
What happens if I need more investigations or treatment?
We always try ensure scans and diagnostic tests are performed on the same day or at your earliest convenience, with a written report and findings available within hours of your consultation.
Our priority is always you, our patient, and our teams are well equipped to give you the best and safest treatment.
It goes without saying that should we need to expedite your treatment, our team are well prepared to admit patients immediately after a consultation with priority surgery/treatment appointments available.
It is our duty to make sure you feel important, listened too, cared for, safe and understood.
If you would like further information then we would love to hear from you.
